The Jain Declaration on Nature is actually based on the work of some 30 eminent scholars as it sets out fundamental Jain values, emphasising how they work in harmony with the environment. The declaration was presented to HRH Prince Philip, President of the World Wide Fund for Nature International, on 23 October 1990 at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace marking the official entry of the Jain faith into the WWF Network on Conservation and Religion.
